Our temporary home in Tent City B10

017 - Our temporary home in Tent City B10

We called it the BIO-Lab. Does everyone remember the popping beds?  How can we forget?  Thankfully, we had an air conditioned unit.  This added benefit was countered by the hourly coming and going of freight trains moving through Pass Christian.  Oh, and who needs a clock? The train engineers dutifully commmunicated their approach to the numerous local grade crossings.

Once, we decided to count the train whistles from the first soft tone we could hear, through the HOOOOORN OON YOOOUUR EEEAAARRDDRRUUUUUUM, AND IN YOUR TENT SHAKE RATTLE AND ROLL then down again to a faint tone. We counted 47 whistle blows. What an experience.  The practice also made everyone anxious to get going to work at daybreak.
